PEL 113 - Harpoono Block (Beach 33.33%)

Beach farmed into the Harpoono Block of PEL-113 in 2004 by contributing to the funding of the Harpoono-1 and Jezabeel-1 wells. Harpoono-1 discovered oil in the Murta Formation while Jezabeel-1 was plugged and abandoned. A 3D seismic survey was acquired in 2005 and two appraisal wells and two exploration wells were drilled in March-May 2006. As well as Murta oil, Revenue-1 and Harpoono-2 also tested oil from deeper zones. Revenue-1 (September) and Rimfire-1 (December) were brought online in 2006, adding to production from the Harpoono Field.

Three further wells were drilled in the block in late 2006. The first of these was Might and Power-1 which spudded in late October, followed by Rising Fast-1 in November and Dunoon-2 in December. Might and Power-1 and Dunoon-2 were cased and suspended, Might and Power-1 as a potential Murta and McKinlay oil producer and Dunoon-2 as a potential Murta oil producer. Rising Fast-1 was plugged and abandoned after failing to encounter significant hydrocarbons.

One well has been drilled in the Harpoono Block in 2007, Comic-1. Beach elected not to participate in the completion of the well.

The block currently produces around 180 bopd.

Further drilling in the Block will be considered after analysis of the latest well data and field production data.
